The Alamo Bowl pep rally, hosted by Rudy’s Bar-B-Q, takes place at the Arneson River Theatre on the downtown San Antonio Riverwalk. Both the Texas Longhorns and Oregon Ducks brought their respective marching bands, cheerleaders, and entire football teams for the packed event. Several hundred fans filled out the Riverwalk amphitheater to enjoy the festivities, including the media’s first glimpse of Texas head coach Mack Brown. The evening closed with a friendly “battle of the bands” between Oregon and Texas’ marching bands, both afloat in riverboats on the water.

Josh Huff is Oregon’s leading and most experienced receiver, having started all four years in his career with the Ducks. The Houston, Texas native has notched 11 touchdowns this year, ranking him second in Oregon history for a single season. While his path to Eugene, Ore. has been anything but easy, Huff has thrived on the Oregon campus and the field as well, as his freakish athletic feats on the field are almost a regular occurrence for Duck fans. Whether it’s leaping over opponents en route to the end zone or making spectacular catches in the red zone, all eyes will be on Huff to deliver in his final game as an Oregon Duck before he is widely believed to be a top-round NFL draft prospect.

The Oregon student section at Autzen stadium is a coveted spot for many Duck students, with the online lottery ticket system regularly overwhelmed during Sunday distribution times. While a seat near the front row is almost a surefire way for 15 minutes of fame on television (particularly if it’s an ESPN broadcast game), the entire section is energetic and particularly loud, at least while the score is close during some of Oregon’s blowout victories.
