Prepped and primed for Day 2, and I couldn’t be more excited.

I can hear No Doubt sound checking “Hella Good” from the camp grounds and I already know I’m going to absolutely lose it. Looking forward to telling you all about it!

Gia is also taking over our Instagram Stories; check it out! @dailytrojan

Sublime was … well … I gotta say it … sublime. Everyone was bopping around with the twang of their bass and the sharp rhythm of their guitar. Original lead Bradley Nowell’s son, Jakob Nowell, sang all the words the crowd knew and loved to mosh to. Perfect 4/20 sunset band; impeccable programming on Coachella’s end.

Hearing “Santeria” live for the first time, as the sun sets over Indio, is an experience I am particularly grateful for today.

A giant mosh is breaking out as Sublime performs “Wrong Way.” This has been happening with pretty much every song in the set.

A girl can only be in so many places at once, apologies for the lag in updates as I frantically sprint around the grounds trying to cover all my bases (and sustain myself without fainting)!

Anyway, here’s Sublime and a sunset — wowza.

From her charismatic crowd work to the dance moves she breaks out in moments of pure joy, RAYE was the definition of what it means to be a performer. With a self-admitted flair for the dramatic, her pure vocal prowess left jaws dropped on the dusty desert floor — mine included.

“Coachella, are you feeling good?” RAYE asked the crowd. “Is Mary treating you good this afternoon? I can’t lie, I’m feeling jealous of you. So if it feels right, can you blow some in my direction?”

RAYE serenades the crowd at Mojave as clouds of billowing smoke fill the tent. Did someone turn on a fog machine?!

Alerted by the crowd, RAYE begins singing her hit “Mary Jane” just as it strikes 4:20 p.m.

RAYE is taking the stage at Mojave, backed by a string orchestra and a full band.

Mexico City’s Girl Ultra is ultra cool. The way she moves with her music — one with every sway in the melody— is intoxicating, and the crowd agrees. Some call her an R&B artist, but reducing her to a genre fails to account for the full range of her talent. Girl Ultra can issue a hit, be it hyperpop or indie inspired; she’s a mosaic of her influences and it shows.

Girl Ultra just mimed rolling and lighting up a joint mid “DameLove (feat. Cuco).” Happy 4/20!

Girl Ultra is the epitome of cool on stage in the Sonora tent right now. More on her set in a bit!

Making my way to the grounds for Juliet Mendoza and Girl Ultra! First acts of the day let’s gooooo!!

Never thought I’d be grateful for an ice-cold camp shower, but Coachella is a weekend of firsts.
