Though all in-person events have been canceled through the rest of the year, UC Berkeley administrators may revisit the decision if public health conditions improve.

On Tuesday, UC Berkeley officials canceled all in-person events through Dec. 31, after announcing that campus would start the semester with remote rather than hybrid instruction.

Campus departments will not be allowed to hold any in-person events, and nondepartmental events will not be able to take place on campus, although the decision may be revisited if public health conditions improve. UC Berkeley administration is recommending that all events, regardless of location, be converted to be virtual whenever possible.
