After a public safety power shutoff issued by PG&E, the UC Berkeley campus’s electricity has been restored, according to a campuswide email sent about 1:50 p.m Friday.

Although classes were canceled, the email said research activities and special events may still take place Friday. Parking lots have also been reopened.

Classes will also resume Monday, as the campus is now ready to resume normal daily operations.

In the email, Marc Fisher, the UC Berkeley vice chancellor, said campus facilities workers have been working since this morning to safely switch the power back on. He added that UCPD has been working to return access to buildings with electronic key-card access.
