Hi readers! I am so excited to publicize the first issue of HANC Herald for the 2017-2018 school year. Our aim with HANC Herald is to reflect the exciting and vibrant aspects of school and the world around us. Like all high schools, HANC is filled with joy, hope, controversy, friendship, ambition, discovery, enjoyment, anger, criticism, experiences, talent, creativity, and achievement. Hopefully, all of these elements of life that everyone experiences here will be reported on.

Another aim of HANC Herald is to showcase the HANC community that we all know and love. Part of showing our sense of community is going to be appealing to a cross-section of the entire school population. To do this, we will make sure that the topics, issues, controversies, events, and photos found in our paper reflect the presence in HANC of its wide variety of individuals.

To enhance the paper’s immediacy and vitality, we will be attempting at having at least one article on an event occurring immediately before or after publication time. These articles can range from an upcoming school event, a student government announcement, a midterm/final week, etc.

On behalf of myself and the rest of HANC Herald, I want to welcome you all to a new volume of the paper and want to express my excitement about what this year will bring. Our mission is to publish a paper that truly serves our readers – we would greatly appreciate any suggestions on how to improve our paper! In order to keep the school in touch with our paper, we will always be open to articles, story suggestions, etc. I can’t wait for this year’s HANC Herald, and I hope you are  too!
