Caitlin Broadwell is a senior volleyball player, here at Colorado State University-Pueblo.

Broadwell is from Lawrence, Kansas and started playing volleyball when he was 8 years old.

“I started playing when I was 8 years old because I wanted to copy off my sister and be better than her at everything, so volleyball was just one of the things I wanted to do,” said Broadwell.

The things that led Broadwell to CSU-Pueblo was about the location of the school. “The school was fascinating to me in the desert but still close to the mountains,” said Broadwell.

This year’s volleyball team is very young with only five upperclassmen. According to Broadwell, it’s a challenge.

“It’s also encouraging to lead such a stud group of girls,” said Broadwell. “Us seniors get to dictate the culture that is set, so we have a lot to think about behind every action.”

‘Broadwell has a passion for the game but outside of volleyball she likes to be with her family and being outdoors. “I like surfing when I can get to the ocean, hanging on my back porch and knitting,” said Broadwell.
