Report: Darren Carrington transferring to Utah

The move comes less than two weeks after new head coach Willie Taggart dismissed Carrington for a DUII on July 1. Carrington was also involved in a variety of other behavioral issues, including a suspension for the 2015 National Championship game for testing positive for marijuana.

Carrington is eligible to play immediately since he graduated from Oregon this past year.

Entering the 2017 season, Carrington was set to be Oregon’s most experienced receiver. He played in 33 games in his Duck career and tallied 112 receptions, 1,919 yards and 15 touchdowns. Carrington earned second team All-Pac-12 honors after the 2015 season despite his six game suspension for the failed drug test that kept him out of the 2015 National Championship game.

Carrington will return to Autzen Stadium as a Ute when the Ducks host Utah on October 28.

The addition boosts a Utah receiving core that lost three of its top four players from last season.
