“I’ve wanted to go to college for ages now, and it was kind of a dream come true,” Yaeger said. “When Oregon contacted us, I was so happy.”

She most recently competed in the 2015 U18 Australia Junior Championships, where she averaged 13 points, four rebounds, 2.6 assists while shooting 40 percent from the field. She was named first-team all-tournmanet.

Yaeger was offered by Oregon on May 1, but her research about Eugene began long before. Early on in the recruiting process, she identified Oregon as a potential school and instantly felt a connection from the coaching staff after her Skype call.

She hopes to visit Eugene for the first time during an official visit in November or December.

“Oregon has some incredible coaches,” Yaeger said. “The whole Ducks basketball team is just a massive family and as soon as they called me, I could feel a warmth from the coaches. It was really easy to like.”

As a member of Australia’ U18 National Junior team, Yaeger played against Oregon incomer Maite Cazorla last year. She’s currently playing for the South Australia Metro team.

ASUA hoops said: “Yaeger boasts considerable athleticism, which she uses to her full advantage on both ends of the floor.”

She will get a chance to play alongside two Australians when she lands in Eugene in 2016. Jacinta Vandenberg and incomer Megan Trinder will both be seniors when Yaeger enrolls.

Yaeger becomes the fourth verbal commitment for Graves in the 2016 class. She joins Jayde Woods, Sierra Campisano and Mallory McGwire.

At the time of her commitment, Yaeger also held offers from Vanderbilt, Grand Canyon University and Idaho State.
