If coffee’s going to be your new best friend, what better way to show it love than by dressing it up a bit?

As part of the Office of Sustainability’s Earth Week, Crafty Coogs showed students how to make coasters from old CDs and bird feeders from empty toilet paper rolls and shiny buttons.

Follow the instructions below to keep your coffee cozy and stylish with your own personalized coffee holder:

Get a Starbucks cup holder — though one from any cafe will do — and gently pry it apart at the seams. You'll use it as your template. | Rene Steffan/The Cougar
Get some old fabric — here an old scarf is used — and cut the fabric to fit your template. | Rene Steffan/The Cougar
Cut a second, stabilizing piece from a tougher fabric, like the old jeans used here. | Rene Steffan/The Cougar
Glue the pieces together. | Rene Steffan/The Cougar
Make sure to glue the edges together to stabilize the fabric and keep it from fraying. | Rene Steffan/The Cougar
Use the cardboard coffee holder as a model for your custom cup holder. Don't wrap the fabric around the cardboard, otherwise your cup holder will be too big. | Rene Steffan/The Cougar
Add any embellishments you'd like, but otherwise you're done. Just slip onto a hot cup of coffee to enjoy. | Rene Steffan/The Cougar
Meet your finished friend. | Rene Steffan/The Cougar
