Hailey Decker and Danica Mercado each added a homerun for the Ducks while Janie Takeda and Janelle Lindvall hit triples.

The Ducks were put into an early hole when starting pitcher Geri Ann Clasco gave up a solo homerun in the first inning but that was the last time the Oregon trailed in the game.

Oregon responded with a solo run in the second inning before taking the lead for good in the third inning.

Tacked got things rolling when she walked with two outs and then stole second before Lilley walked. With two on, Lindvall hit a triple to score Takeda and Lilley for the 3-1 lead.

The Ducks added two runs in the fourth inning and five more in the fifth inning for a 10-1 lead and a chance at the run-rule victory. Utah didn’t go away ad the Utes scored six runs in the inning, forcing Karissa Hovinga to enter into the game in replace of Glasco.

Oregon responded to Utah’s big inning by adding one run in the sixth inning and four more in the seventh inning.

For the game, Lilley went 3-for-4 while Lindvall, Glasco, Costa and Mercado added two hits apiece. Lilley and Decker led the way with three RBI’s each while Lindvall and Costa added two apiece.

Oregon looks to sweep the series tomorrow when they face Utah at 11 a.m. in Salt Lake City, Utah.
