Oregon running back recruit Taj Griffin set for surgery on Tuesday

Oregon running back recruit Taj Griffin will undergo knee surgery next Tuesday, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Griffin, a senior at McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Georgia, tore his ACL while trying to make a special teams tackle in a game against North Gwinnett on August 23rd. The injury ruled him out for the remainder of the 2014 season.

Griffin’s father, Herb, told the Constitution that his son is excited to have surgery and begin the rehabilitation process.

“That’s the number one thing- he can’t wait to get it over with,” his father said.

The future Duck is considered a five-star recruit by 247sports. His older brother Ty Griffin transferred to Oregon from Georgia Tech this year.
