Four members of Oregon track and field were honored Monday when the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association unveiled their 2014 regional awards.

Jenna Prandini was named the West Region Women’s Track Athlete of the Year, while head coach Robert Johnson and assistant coaches Andy Powell and Curtis Taylor all received coaching awards. Johnson was named the West Region Men’s Coach of the Year.

The award for Prandini, who is only a sophomore, adds to her impressive resume with the Ducks. In the Pac-12 Championships Prandini became the first woman since 1999 to win three individual titles, in the 100, 200 and long jump. She is in the top five in the nation in each of her individual events and is a member of a strong Oregon 4×100 relay.

Johnson has led the Oregon program this season with an eye towards capitalizing at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. He earned the Men’s Coach of the Year award after qualifying 21 entries for the Championship meet, the most of any school in the nation. The team also holds the No. 1 ranking heading into the meet.

Both Powell and Taylor were given the men and women’s coaching awards, respectively.

The NCAA Championships are set to take place June 11-14 at Historic Hayward Field.
