The Oregon Ducks played the Minnesota Golden Gophers at Howe Field on Saturday, May 24, 2014 in the first game of the NCAA Eugene Super Regional series. No. 1-ranked Oregon Ducks (53-7-1) earned their win with a 10-2 run-rule victory over No. 16 Minnesota (44-11) in front of a record crowd. The Ducks scored eight of their ten runs in the first three innings due to numerous errors by the Golden Gophers. Oregon pitcher Cheridan Hawkins made her Super Regional starting debut on Saturday and only gave up two runs and three hits, finishing with four strikeouts.
The Ducks will play the second game of the Eugene Super Regionals at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 25 at Howe Field.
