With the game tied at 2-2, Janelle Lindvall and Alexa Peterson hit back-to-back solo home runs in the sixth inning to help No. 1 Oregon pull out the win. The Ducks will now turn their attention to Stanford for a three-game series starting Friday. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. in Palo Alto, Calif.

– The Oregon men’s tennis team will have the chance at redemption when it faces rival Washington in its first match of the Pac-12 tournament starting Wednesday in Ojai, Calif. Oregon received the seventh seed and will try to win the season series against sixth-seeded Washington in a 2 p.m. match. The Huskies split their regular season series with Oregon, which earned the upset in the first meeting. Washington won the rematch on April 19.

– Although she’s just a redshirt freshman, Jenna Prandini is making quite a name for herself in the world of collegiate track and field. After a dominating performance at the Mount SAC Relays this past weekend, Prandini was selected as the Pac-12 athlete of the week. Prandini ran a 11.11 100-meter dash to earn the victory and then helped the Ducks’ 4×100 relay team win their race in a time of 43.31, the fourth-fastest time in conference history.

– For the first time since 2009, the Oregon men’s track and field team is officially ranked No. 1 in the country. The Ducks took the top spot from reigning national champion Florida by improving their score to 335.91, a full 16.49 points ahead of the Gators.

– Emerald associate sports editor Victor Flores appeared on KWVA’s Quack Smack Tuesday night. Flores talked with host Travis Teich and panelists Andrew Bantly (also an Emerald sports reporter) and Geoff Safford about Oregon baseball, the NBA playoffs, baseball brawls and their favorite Eugene bars. Quack Smack airs from 6-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and will feature an Emerald sports reporter every Tuesday. KWVA also airs Friday Night Spotlight from 7-9 p.m. each week.
