With the spring semester underway UNC Charlotte’s dining service provider, Chartwells, has introduced Papa John’s as a new catering option for events and activities held on and off campus.

The incorporation of Papa John’s has opened up an easier avenue through which clubs and organizations can now use school funding directly from their budgets to cater Papa John’s at their events.

Chartwells Catering Service allows you to function directly through a school entity rather than purchasing out of pocket and “jumping through hoops” to be reimbursed later.

“It affords you the opportunity of streamlining the payment process, and insures you have someone on working on your behalf.” Says Brad Green, director of catering and special services for Chartwells here at UNC Charlotte.

Along with operating as the middle man between Papa John’s and the UNC Charlotte catering service, Chartwells insures the quality of their orders by using feedback from customers. The inclusion of Papa John’s into Chartwells Catering Service comes as a reaction to the influx of catering orders Mama Leone’s had begun to receive, which exceeded the capabilities of their campus locations.

In addition to quenching the cravings of college students across UNC Charlotte’s campus, the new partnership creates further opportunities for Papa John’s to expand within the Chartwells catering service across the UNC system.

Green described that a plan is set in place at UNC Greensboro where students can order Papa John’s pizza and have it delivered using their Chartwells declining balance.

“This is an opportunity for us, and we’re exploring that right now (at UNC Charlotte),” Green declared.

He also stated that the catering addition is a step in the right direction for this type of partnership to someday take place at UNC Charlotte, but made sure to point out that delivery through declining balance is a hope, not a promise.

“It’s a good step forward for the program,” said Green.

Instructions on how to cater through Chartwells can be found by visiting their website, http://www.dineoncampus.com/unccharlotte/ or by visiting their office located downstairs in the Cone Center, room 243.
