A University of Minnesota student was the victim of an armed robbery in the Marcy-Holmes neighborhood Wednesday, according to an email crime alert sent by University Police Chief Greg Hestness to faculty, staff and students.
While walking to class around 9:20 a.m. near the intersection of 14th Avenue Southeast and Sixth Street Southeast, a man approached the student, showed her a gun and demanded her valuables, the alert said. The suspect then took the victim’s backpack and fled.
