Blog: James’ summer

I spent this summer in Washington, D.C. as an intern in the United States Senate. Working for Colorado’s Michael F. Bennet, I had many responsibilities and duties, ranging from talking to constituents and giving tours of the Capitol to working on education policy and collaborating with members of the communications team.

There’s nothing quite like being a young political science major working in the nation’s capital, but I can say that it was an experience I’ll never forget. Being in Washington I was afforded the opportunity to travel the East Coast a bit. In this photo set you’ll see images from New York City, Philadelphia and the Jersey shore.

Upon returning to Colorado, I was foolhardy enough to climb a couple (my first, in fact) of fourteeners. With friends from school I conquered Mount Yale and Mount Belford, each part of the Collegiate Peaks near Buena Vista. Please enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed creating them.
