Oregon baseball completes sweep of Hawai’i, Jeff Gold hurt

The No. 15 Ducks started off their season at Hawai’i this week and notched a four-game sweep of the Rainbow Warriors.

After taking the first three games of the series, Oregon started off the afternoon down 1-0, but their bats would rally for a 4-2 win with J.J. Altobelli responsible for RBI singles in back-to-back innings.

Pitcher Jeff Gold injured his left ankle in the win when a comebacker stung him in the left ankle with the Ducks leading 3-1 in the fifth inning. He was in line for the win but left the game one out shy of making a complete start. It’s unclear if he will miss any time, but it won’t affect the Ducks’ weekend rotation.

Oregon makes its PK Park debut against Loyola Marymount this Friday.
