Minnesota coach Jerry Kill suffers seizure after loss

Minnesota head football coach Jerry Kill suffered a seizure in the coaches’ locker room after his team’s 21-13 loss to Northwestern on Saturday at TCF Bank Stadium.

Kill’s seizure occured after he had completed his postgame media responsibilities. He was immediately attended to by team medical personnel before being transported to a local hospital by ambulance as a precaution, according to a team report.

Kill is currently alert and resting comfortably, the team said in a statement. The statement said Minnesota does not anticipate further information on Kill’s condition Saturday night but hopes to provide an update Sunday.

Kill collapsed on the sidelines last September in the fourth quarter of a game against New Mexico State. He was hospitalized following that incident and suffered several recurrences that season. The coach has since recovered and said at Big Ten Media Days in July that he was in his best health in several years.
