Arkansas football coach Bobby Petrino “is in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery” after being involved in a motorcycle accident Sunday evening, UA athletic director Jeff Long said in a statement.

Petrino was operating the motorcycle in the single-car crash around 6:45 p.m. near Crosses in Madison County, Ark., Bill Sadler with the Arkansas State Police said to The Traveler. State police responded to the accident and Petrino was hospitalized overnight in Washington County.

“Our family appreciates respect for our privacy during the recovery and we are grateful for the thoughts of Razorback fans at this time,” Long said in the statement.

The UA will provide additional information after consulting with the Petrino family, Long said.

ESPN’s Joe Schad reported Petrino is “pretty banged up” after the crash.

The Razorback have practices Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday this week, but the UA wouldn’t comment on whether Petrino will miss any time.
