Iconic singer Whitney Houston was found dead at a Beverly Hills hotel on Saturday, her rep confirmed. Houston was staying at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles to attend the Grammys tomorrow night. According a publicist representing Ray J, her long-term boyfriend, Houston’s bodyguard discovered her body late Saturday afternoon. Police responded to a 911 call and attempted to resuscitate Houston, but pronounced her dead at the scene at 3:55 p.m.

Houston, commonly acknowledged as the one-time queen of pop, was one of the best-selling artists in the world during the 1980s and 1990s until drug and addiction problems tainted her career. But Beverly Hills Police Lt. Mark Rosen stated at a press conference that there were “no obvious signs of criminal intent” surrounding her death.

Officials will continue to investigate the cause of death, but have not yet confirmed exact details.

Houston was 48. She leaves behind 18-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, from her previous marriage to R&B singer Bobby Brown.

Despite any of the difficulties in her career, fans are sure to remember Houston’s booming voice and heartfelt lyrics for years to come. Houston won six Grammys throughout her career, and her presence at tomorrow’s Grammy awards will be surely missed.
