Baylor’s Robert Griffin III expected to win Heisman

StiffArmTrophy.com, a website that has correctly predicted the last 10 Heisman trophy winners based on compiled lists of Heisman voters, says Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III will take the trophy to Waco this year.

Over the last decade, StiffArmTrophy.com has created a list of who it believes are the 870 media members whose votes, in combination with votes from former Heisman winners, decide the Heisman trophy winner. The list is unofficial, as the Heisman Trust does not reveal its list of voters. Instead StiffArmTrophy.com relies on information from fans and sportswriters about who has a Heisman vote and works to confirm who actually does have a vote.

Heisman voters select their first, second and third place picks, and each first place pick receives three points for a player, second place gets two points and third one point.

Extrapolating from the roughly 22 percent of votes reported, StiffArmTrophy.com projects Griffin to receive 70 percent of all first place votes, totaling about 2,000 points, and defeat Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck by a sizeable margin. Luck is projected to finish with about 1,400 points, and Alabama running back Trent Richardson will earn roughly 730 points.
