By Minch Minchin

U. Florida is scheduled to host the final Florida gubernatorial debate before the 2010 general election.

The ACCENT-sponsored debate will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 26, which is one week before Election Day.

Adam Smith, a political editor for the St. Petersburg Times, will moderate debate along with three UF students. Former Gov. Bob Martinez and former Gov. and U.S. Senator Bob Graham have also been asked to help host the event, which will be held in the Phillips Center.

During the debate, the governor’s race candidates will be expected to answer questions generated by UF students.

Florida Blue Key will officially present the debate, which will be broadcast live across the state by Bay News 9, a St. Petersburg news station.

The debate will be co-sponsored by Student Government, the Florida Law Review and the Bob Graham Center for Public Service.
