UCF student arrested on charges of running meth lab

A U. Central Florida student was arrested Wednesday evening and faces charges of making methamphetamine in his apartment at Campus Crossings.

According to OrlandoSentinel.com, William Cecil, a computer science major and chemistry minor who will turn 22 on Friday, was in possession of chemicals used to make methamphetamine. He told police he also had cocaine and Ecstasy in his apartment.

OrlandoSentinel.com also reports that one of Cecil’s roommates alerted staff of the chemicals in Cecil’s apartment. About 50 residents were then evacuated from the building so deputies could search for the drugs and chemicals.

Items found in the apartment include jugs of chemicals, cocaine, oxycodone, Ecstasy and beakers and flasks used to cook meth.

According to OrlandoSentinel.com, 25-year-old Steven Brian Bardill, who was visiting Cecil at the time was arrested and faces charges of trafficking oxycodone.
