Florida wide receiver Frankie Hammond Jr. was arrested early Sunday on campus and charged with DUI and liquor posession after his Mercury was stopped for speeding.

A UPD officer clocked Hammond’s vehicle going more than 45 miles per hour on Gale Lemerand Drive, where the speed limit is 20 mph.

Hammond, 20, failed field sobreity tests administered to him and his blood alcohol content was reportedly more than twice the legal limit of 0.08.

Police also found two open 750-ml bottles of Crown Royal in Hammond’s vehicle.

According to team spokesman Steve McClain, Hammond, who will be a redshirt sophomore in the fall, has been suspended from all team activities.
