LSU’s Gibbs, Landry taken on second day of MLB draft

By Michael Lambert

The 2010 MLB Draft continued Tuesday with two more LSU selections.

LSU junior catcher Micah Gibbs was selected 97th overall by the Chicago Cubs in the third round, and junior centerfielder Leon Landry was taken by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the third round at the 109th pick.

Landry is the second player with LSU ties taken by the National League club. The Dodgers selected football prospect Zach Lee with the 28th pick on Monday night.

It is unknown if Lee will opt to play in pros or honor his football scholarship to play quarterback at LSU.

Junior pitcher Anthony Ranaudo was chosen Monday night 39th overall by the Boston Red Sox in compensation round A.
