Texas A&M’s top-ranked men’s and women’s track and field teams will attempt to defend their NCAA championships starting today at Hayward Field on the U. Oregon campus. The Aggies will make their second trip to the venue this year, after competing in the Pepsi Team Invitational in April.

Ti’erra Brown hopes to bring home national championships this week in Eugene, Ore.
A nagging back injury in 2008 plagued Ti’erra Brown during her freshman year. Despite this, she managed to finish eighth in the 400-meter hurdles and achieve All-American status at the NCAA National Championships.

ISU student named nation’s best female track and field athlete
It has been a season full of records, awards and many honors for Iowa State U. distance runner Lisa Koll. Perhaps one of the greatest honors came Thursday in the form of the Honda Sports Award as the nation’s best female track and field athlete.

Runner beats meningitis, returns to track
Though Claire Berryman is a fifth-year varsity runner and doctoral candidate at Penn State U., running had to take the back seat last summer -- when she was unsure whether she would live to see another season. After the 2009 spring season, Berryman completed her undergraduate work.
