Rupp Arena redesign approved
Step one is complete: Rupp Arena has a firm redesign in mind after a Lexington subcommittee approved a proposed new look. The finances are a whole separate issue. A report is due in January. As for just the aesthetics, the new design looks great, at least based on the conceptual renderings.

Mbakwe done for season with ACL tear
Trevor Mbakwe will miss the rest of the 2011-12 season after tearing his right ACL in the Minnesota Gophers' 86-70 loss to Dayton on Sunday. An MRI scan Monday confirmed the injury, which caused Mbakwe to have to be assisted off the court after an awkward landing in the second half.
