“V Week” carries on Valvano’s legacy
North Carolina State U.'s Lonnie Poole golf course played host to the 17th annual Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic on Sunday as celebrities and volunteers joined forces to raise money for cancer research. 13,352 spectators took part in honoring the late Jim Valvano by attending the event.

A new season of Gorlok spirit: Golf team returns after rebuilding year
During their last season, the Webster U. Gorlok golf team, headed by coach Andrew Belsky, had to wander St. Louis looking for a place to play. Their home golf course was closed for renovation, causing the team to constantly search for a regular place to practice and play.

Wessinger leaves Gophers to start St. Catherine golf program
Minnesota associate golf head coach Kristine Wessinger will resign her position as the head coach of the women's golf team to start a varsity program with St. Catherine University, according to the Wildcats' website. Wessinger will become the first golf coach in SCU history in the fall of 2011.

Justin Rose captures Memorial Tournament championship
Trailing by four shots heading into the Memorial’s final round, round one co-leader Justin Rose shot a near-flawless 66 on Sunday to claim his first career PGA tour victory at 18-under par. “For me, it's a great way to win,” Rose said.
