The average price of gasoline at the pump across the US last week was about $3.47 per gallon according to the Energy Information Administration. Seems high right? Think back to July 2008, when the average price of gasoline reached an all-time high of more than $4.10.

On Friday, members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association nearly voted to override a reform that would allow students to receive multiple-year scholarships. Since 1973, student-athletes have only been able to receive scholarships one year at a time.
