Old Campus is currently abuzz in anticipation of Screw, but the vast majority of freshman are tragically forgetting about a crucial part of the evening: the walk to Commons. The journey is the destination, people! The Walk is where nights are made or lost, so here’s a quick guide to starting Screw out on the right foot.

Only Ask Questions

Show that you’re truly interested in getting to know your date by going full Ron Swanson and communicating exclusively via queries. A sample line of questioning for the walk over:

Do you like animals?
Do you have a pet lizard?
Do you ever craft tiny, lizard-sized replicas of your favorite outfits, maneuver your lizard into them, and then strut around town with your lizard on your shoulder, wearing trucker hats that only somewhat ironically read, “#twinning”?
Isn’t it incredible that we both do that?

Behold, a bond is forged.

Be Prepared

When packing for your trip, take a note from the Boy Scouts of America and plan for every scenario. It’s a long walk—bring snacks! Your standard Goldfish, Pirate’s Booty, and miniature blueberry muffins will do, but this can also be an opportunity for romance. Imagine gazing into your date’s eyes as you nibble on separate ends of a Fruit Roll-Up, á la Lady and the Tramp. Electric, I know.

As for appropriate apparel: it might feel like we’re in Canada, but let’s dress for Cabo. Exposed skin is a must, and if your heels are less than six inches tall, you could be wearing Crocs for all I care. This is especially important for the men of the freshman class. Remember, boys, if your shoes can easily navigate Yale’s icy, cobblestone paths, you do NOT look hot.

You may also need: a deck of cards, a compass, Ravenclaw’s diadem, a dog sled (plus dogs, should you not already have them), and a Yale Undergraduate Admissions tour guide, to identify points of historical import on the way.

In a last minute sweep, the Bullblog staff has won The Rumpus 50 most. We won the game, all of it. We are the Most! Perhaps it’s because we took a cue from one of last year’s most beautiful people on campus, the TD Buttery. We will be signing autographs later this week.

Chance The Rapper will no longer perform at Yale’s Spring Fling on Saturday, April 26th, due to an illness.

He was hospitalized earlier this week and has since been released.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the long-anticipated Bullblog Days are upon us!

These joyous few days are filled with activities that do not give pre-frosh any genuine insight into what the Yale experience is really like. But more importantly, it is the two-day celebration of us: the Bullblog.

We will be hosting:

1) A tour of Eli’s Place from 7:30-8:00 am.

2) A Bullblog breakfast at President Salovey’s from 8:00-9:00 am.

3) A tour of The Bullblog site every 30 minutes starting at 10 am. Just log on!

4) A tour of Yale campus and our favorite spots to chill (A&A and Bass are NOT on the list). These are every hour on the hour starting at Ashley’s.

5) A forum on blogging etiquette, 11:00-11:15 am.

6) A forum on Science. 11:15-11:30 am.

7) A forum on Social Studies. 11:30-12:00 am.

8) Pizza party lunch. 12:00-1:00 pm.
