Athletics director resigns after sexual harassment allegations

University of Minnesota Athletics Director Norwood Teague resigned following sexual harassment allegations, the school announced Friday.

University President Eric Kaler accepted Teague’s resignation Thursday, which took effect Friday. Kaler issued a statement Friday saying the alleged behavior, which included “unwelcome sexual advances and verbal and physical conduct,” occurred on one night and involved an intoxicated Teague harassing two non-student University employees.

Regents review strategic plan, proposed tuition freeze

The University of Minnesota’s Board of Regents reviewed a proposed tuition freeze and the final draft of the institution’s strategic plan at its monthly meeting Friday.

President Eric Kaler proposed a nearly $1.3 billion budget request for 2016-17, and a group of faculty members presented the final 76-page strategic plan along with Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Karen Hanson.

Proposed budget extends tuition freeze beyond undergrads

Come next year, the University of Minnesota’s tuition freeze could affect more students.

University President Eric Kaler’s 2016-17 biennial budget request includes a continued tuition freeze for students paying undergraduate in-state tuition — but it also proposes a similar freeze for graduate and professional students who pay the same tuition.
