Photos: Oregon Ducks vs. Michigan State Spartans GameDay Festivities

In what has become an annual trip, College GameDay set up at the Memorial Quad on the University of Oregon campus this week and ran the live show Saturday in preparation to the matchup between No. 3 Oregon and No. 7 Michigan State. Historically, the Ducks are 5-3 when GameDay comes to Eugene. Regardless, it hasn’t stopped staples to the show like Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Lee Corso from praising the passionate fan base seen around the town and Autzen Stadium. As with any GameDay, the signs were out in flux, with the Duck’s appearance on the show bringing some of the most roars from the crowd.

Photos: Oregon Ducks 41, South Dakota Coyotes 13 at halftime

The Oregon Ducks lead the South Dakota Coyotes 41-13 at halftime. Oregon opened its first game of the season with touchdown drives of 1:24, 1:04, and 2:12 on its way to a 41-13 lead over South Dakota at halftime. Marcus Mariota also had a strong first half and lead the team to score 21 points in on their first three drives of the game. Oregon’s defense did a good job limiting the Coyotes offense and only allowed 13 points.

With its first game of the 2014 season set to begin at 7:30 p.m., flocks of Oregon fans took their rightful place in Autzen Stadium’s surrounding parking lots for pre-game festivities. In what is the first of seven home games this season, the third ranked Ducks’ clash with South Dakota is featured as a “wear white” day.
