Photos: Oregon softball — No. 1 Ducks destroy California Bears 9-1

The No. 1 Oregon Ducks play the California Bears in the first game of a three-game series on Thursday, April 17. After beating the UCLA Bruins two of the three games at the last home series, the Ducks jumped from No. 3 to No. 1 for the first time in program history. The Ducks are looking to hold onto this ranking while playing the Cal Bears over the weekend. Next, the Ducks play the California Bears in the second game of the series on Friday, April 18 at Howe Field in Eugene.

Photos: Oregon Baseball – Ducks sneak past University of San Diego Toreros 4-3

The No. 25 Oregon Ducks baseball team (27-10) hosts the University of San Diego Toreros (25-10) at PK Park in Eugene, Ore., on Mon., April 14, 2014. The Ducks ended the UC Riverside series winning all three games to continue staying ranked at No. 25. The last game of the series on Sun. April 13 ended with a score of 6-5 where the Ducks scored three runs in the seventh inning to break the tie and catch the lead. Head coach George Horton is hoping to keep up this win streak after playing the San Diego Toreros.

Next up for the Ducks is a three-game series against the University of Washington. The first game is on Thurs., April 17 at 6pm at PK Park in Eugene, Ore.

Photos: Oregon Baseball – Ducks continue win streak against UC Riverside Highlanders 7-4

The No. 25 Oregon Ducks baseball team (25-10, 7-5 Pac-12) hosts UC Riverside (14-15, 3-3 Big West) this weekend at PK Park for a three-game series. During the first game of the series on Fri., Apr. 11, zero runs were scored during the first and second innings. Once the Ducks were up to bat at the start of the third inning, Oregon scored four runs and held the lead for the rest of the game. The final score was 7-2, and left-handed pitcher Tommy Thorpe allowed only one unearned run on just two hits while striking out seven and walking one. The Ducks are looking to keep the win streak alive for the rest of the series.

Next, the Ducks take on the Highlanders in game three of the series Sun., Apr. 13 at 12 p.m. at P.K. Park

Photos: Oregon Baseball — Ducks offense explodes 15-10 over Portland Pilots

The No. 25 Oregon baseball team (22-10, 7-5 Pac-12) takes on the University of Portland Pilots (7-32) on Tuesday, April 8. The Ducks are looking to improve their record after traveling through Washington for the past two weeks ending the road trip with five wins and five losses spread out between four different schools. The last time the Ducks played the Pilots on Feb. 25 Oregon won 8-2, and senior pitcher Jeff Gold allowed only two runs on three hits in five innings to help the team get there.

Next, the Ducks play UC Riverside in the first game of a three game series on Friday, April 11.

Photos: Monster Jam truck tour ignites Matthew Knight Arena

Monster Jam returns to Eugene, Ore. at Matthew Knight Arena on April 5 & 6. As one of the most popular touring family entertainment sporting events in the world, Monster Jam brings along 12-foot-tall and about 12-foot-wide monster trucks that are custom-designed machines that sit on 66-inch-tall tires and weigh a minimum of 10,000 pounds. These trucks are capable of speeds up to 100 miles per hour, and can fly up to 150 feet in the air. Fans from all over Oregon show up to watch the monster truck event.

Photos: Oregon softball — No. 3 Ducks destroy No. 1 UCLA 12-4 in second series game

The No. 3 Oregon softball team (31-4, 7-0 Pac-12) takes on No.1-ranked UCLA (32-3, 7-2) in the second game of the three-game series on Saturday, April 5. The Ducks are looking to hold onto a tight first-place conference lead over the second-place Bruins. On Friday, April 4, the Ducks beat the Bruins 9-7 in a heated game full of tons of hits and runs. The last time the Ducks won over a top-ranked team was on April 21, 2012. Oregon is now 3-8 against No. 1 ranked teams in more than four seasons under head coach Mike White.

A week after sweeping then No. 5 Washington for the first time in its history, the No. 3 Oregon softball team (30-4, 6-0 Pac-12) takes on No.1-ranked UCLA (32-2, 7-1) for a three-game series starting Friday. Cheridan Hawkins (0.98 ERA) will take the hill for the Ducks as they look to hold onto a tight first place conference lead over the second-place Bruins. Courtney Ceo, Kailee Cuico and Alexa Peterson will look to maintain their hot bats for Oregon, as well, as they take on Ally Carda (0.79 ERA).

Photos: Oregon Baseball – USC Trojans edge Ducks 3-2 in first conference game of the season

The Ducks play their first conference game of the season against the University of Southern California Trojans at PK Park in Eugene, Ore. on Friday, March 14, 2014. Coming off a 20-4 win against the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Ducks are looking to keep up the momentum and win the first game of the USC series. They are currently 12-4 and are still ranked 12th in the latest Baseball America top 25 poll.

Next, the Ducks will play the second of the USC series on Saturday, March 15 at 2 p.m. at PK Park.

After handling the Ohio State Buckeyes 8-2 on Friday, March 7, the Oregon Ducks play the Ohio State Buckeyes again in the second game of the series on Saturday, March 8 at PK Park. On Friday, Tommy Thorpe (2-1) struck out a career-high 10 batters while limiting the Buckeyes to just two hits in seven scoreless innings. Oregon head coach George Horton wants to focus on continuing their win streak and upping their No. 14 rank in the Baseball America Poll.

Game three of the series against the Buckeyes is set for Sunday, March 9 at PK Park in Eugene, Ore.

Aer performs its Word of Mouth Tour at the WOW Hall with special guests RDGLDGRN and New Beat Fund on Sunday, March 2, 2014. The band is known for its eclectic mix of rap, reggae, pop and indie rock aesthetics to create its own brand of music. David von Mering and Carter Schultz formed Aer in Wayland, MA and released their first mixed tapes in 2010. Following the success of its first album “The Bright Side,” Aer began working on its self-titled sophomore effort, “Aer,” in late 2012. The album dropped in late 2013, and the group has been on tour ever since. Ultimately the group’s goal is to create interesting, well-crafted songs that they can share with as many people as possible.
