The Eugene Emeralds defeated the Spokane Indians 4-1 Wednesday night. The Ems scored three runs in the 5th inning, capitalizing off the Indians’ mistakes.

Head coach Mark Helfrich addressed the media on Saturday, answering many depth chart questions. He expects the quarterback battle to “shake itself out” next week, and a depth chart should begin to take shape in 3-4 days.
Running backs coach Gary Campbell talked to the media on Thursday, dressed in all white per usual. He discusses competition and filling the void left by Thomas Tyner. Watch below.

With a little over two weeks until Oregon’s season opener against Eastern Washington, a lot of talk has been about the offense. That includes recent transfer Vernon Adams Jr. who is for better or for worse, in the most paid attention to quarterback duel in the Pac-12.
Competition is at a high level, and leaders are emerging amongst the team. Helfrich is pleased, but not complacent. Watch below, and read Ryan Kostecka’s recap here.
That was the Oregon offense on Tuesday during their first team scrimmage, filled with penalties. Prospect Quarterback Jeff Lockie wants to speed up the tempo, but must be patient with new guys learning the offense at a high speed.
Defensive Coordinator Don Pellum likes the state of his defense and says, mentally, they are ahead of where the defense was last year.
Simply put by Pellum himself,”It was a good day.”
