The No. 6 Oregon Ducks played well on one side of the ball during the first half but were inconsistent on the other side. The Oregon defense held the Utes to 137 total yards, intercepting quarterback Adam Schulz once. The only blemish on defense for the Ducks came in the second quarter on a 34-yard catch-and-run for a touchdown by tight end Jake Murphy. Oregon struggled most of the half on offense, though, with 190 total yards and just 10 rushing. They did hit on some big plays, including a 57-yard hook-up between Marcus Mariota and Bralon Addison. De’Anthony Thomas and Josh Huff had one touchdown catch each.

Posted on 15 November 2013.
On Thursday afternoon, several dozen members of the University’s U.S. Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) practiced rappelling off of the grandstands at Hayward Field. Senior ROTC cadets and a support cadre of active Army servicemen helped new cadets learn the ropes, starting with the proper way to tie a Swiss seat, a type of harness that is constructed entirely out of rope by a service member. From there, the cadets started with a gentle 10-degree rappel down the grandstand seats on the West side of Hayward Field. After passing the section, cadets tested their self-tied harnesses while rappelling some 25 feet off the back of the stairwells at Hayward Field.
The ROTC program heads to Lookout Point Dam in Dexter, Ore., on Friday to put their rappelling skills to real-world use, as the new cadets will rappel some 90 feet off of the dam.

The fourth annual Run With The Duck started with a small group of 30 students from campus, and has grown to over 500 participants signed up for the event this year. The Eugene police department was hired for security during the race, and a team of motorcycle officers led the runners along the route. Volunteers for the event included University students, fraternity and sorority members, and Rec Center members in charge of directing runners and making the event possible. Eclectic Edge was in charge of the timing of the event and the results can be seen at (http://onlineraceresults.com/race/view_race.php?race_id=36317#racetop).

For the second time this season, the Ducks trail at halftime as the No. 6 ranked Cardinal punched in two scores to lead 17-0 at the break. The Cardinal were dominant on both sides of the ball to gain an edge on an Oregon team that isn’t used to trailing, let alone at the half. While there is still one more half to play, the Ducks have missed a few golden opportunities to change the early outcome of the game and it has resulted in the Cardinal favor.
