The second annual Undie Run filled the Memorial Quad with half-naked runners. All who attended donated the clothes off their backs for the Hosea Youth Services charity. Hosea Youth Services offers homeless teens a safe environment off the streets in Eugene, Oregon. The event consisted of a one mile run through the heart of campus. DJ Damon Steele provided the after-run entertainment.

Students at the University of Oregon elaborate on their Memorial Day weekend plans. Two of the most infamous destinations are Lake Shasta, located in northern California, and Sasquatch! Music Festival in George, Washington. The Sasquatch! Music Festival began in 2002 with only seven bands, including Ben Harper and Jack Johnson.

The first annual O Show was held at Matthew Knight Arena on Monday evening. In attendance were faculty, staff, coaches and students within the athletic department. Winners included Dana Altman for best coach while rookie Jenna Lilley clenched the Freshman of the Year award. Marcus Mariota won Male Athlete of the Year, but was not in attendance. He was humbled by the honor and sent a video message from Tennessee to accept the award. The host, Neil Everett, an ESPN sport anchor, was accompanied by his co-host, Tyler Johnstone, an offensive lineman.

The Oregon Twilight meet was held at historic Hayward Field last Friday. Ducks of past, present, and future took to the track to compete. Among the stars were Ashton Eaton, olympic decathlon winner, and his wife Brianne Theisen-Eaton. Brianne set a personal best in the long jump while high schooler and Oregon Duck recruit, Matthew Maton, ran the third-fastest mile time in high school record books.

Joe Rapport began Joe’s Burgers in Portland, Oregon in 2010. His first restaurant was a kiosk at the Bridgeport Mall, but since then it has grown to 6 locations spanning from Portland to Eugene. Raised in Southern California, his favorite burger is the chili burger because it reminds him of home. Joe’s Burgers is currently located along 13th Avenue, across from the Volcanology building. He will be located in the newly renovated EMU beginning in September.

Oregon baseball was established in 1885 and in 2014 finished second in the Pac-12. The Ducks are run by head coach George Horton who has lead the team since 2009. The recently renovated PK Park is also the home of the Eugene Emeralds and is the perfect spot to grab a hot dog and enjoy America’s favorite pastime.

Fresh produce is available in Downtown Eugene during the winter months. The first public market began in 1915 in Eugene and is still going strong to this day.
