A man was robbed at gunpoint near the University of Minnesota campus early Sunday morning in the area’s second armed robbery within about a week.

The victim, who isn’t affiliated with the University, was crossing the footbridge near Van Cleve Park at about 2:30 a.m. when four men wearing ski masks approached him from behind masks, threatened him with a gun and demanded his valuables, according to a crime alert sent to the campus community.

Wilson defies the norm

By: Allison Kronberg

Her first time in a solar car, Stephanie Wilson anxiously climbed into the tiny driver’s seat and closed the cover.

During her first loop around the track, the car malfunctioned and the accelerator stuck on the highest speed. Long minutes passed before her team was able to solve the issue.

Despite her shy and soft-spoken personality, Wilson couldn’t wait to get back in the driver’s seat. The experience earned her the nickname “the Stig,” based on the mysterious racecar test-driver from the English TV series Top Gear.

Tucked away in a snug office, three women and their student staff meet with a steady stream of clients each day, a routine that reaches back almost 80 years, when fraternities first came to the group in search of necessities like fuel to heat their chapter houses.

Dr. Date

Dr. Date,

Hey, I have a crush on my roommate, and I don’t know how to handle the situation. I knew I liked him before I signed our lease, and I thought that our time together would bring him around to the same feelings.

But he hasn’t shown any interest at all. In fact, since we moved in, we hang/talk less because we’re on completely different schedules. We were never really close friends before, but it seems like we’re strictly roommates now.
