Less than one month after current Illini men’s golfer Scott Langley capped a thrilling run at the US Open, three former Illini are set to compete in the John Deere Classic. Held at the TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill., the tournament is scheduled to run from July 5-11.
Steve Stricker, now No. 4 in the world and the tournament’s defending champion, will be joined by D.A. Points and current Illinois head coach Mike Small in the field.
On July 9th the tournament will feature “Illini Day” for its second round.
The John Deere tournament helped raise $4.6 million for 500 charities last year, putting it above all other tournaments in the PGA Tour in per capita contributions, according to a University press release.
