Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens has announced he will not renew Chelsea Shaw’s contract.
The school announced the acrobatics and tumbling news via a release on Wednesday evening. Shaw was 26-9 during her three seasons as head coach for the Ducks. Oregon was the NCATA runner up in each of the three seasons to Baylor.
The Ducks finished the 2017 campaign with an 8-2 record, and both losses came to Baylor. Oregon last won a national title in 2014 when the program beat Azusa Pacific.
Shaw signed a three-year contract worth $50,000 annually when she took over the program in 2014. Her contract was due to expire on June 30, 2017.
Shaw took over the program after coach Felecia Mulkey departed Eugene for Waco. Shaw also competed for the Ducks.
Oregon announced Nicole Rodenbach will immediately assume duties as interim coach. Rodenbach joined the Oregon staff in 2015 before previously coaching at Scottsdale Christian Academy. The school said it will begin a national search for Shaw’s successor.
