Two separate armed robberies occurred Jan. 20 and Jan. 22, respectively, in both the Northside and Southside areas.
A female and male victim were robbed near the intersection of Oxford Street and Hearst Avenue on Jan. 20 via a possible shotgun by two black males, according to a Berkeley Police Department crime alert. The suspects, both between the ages of 18 and 25, were last seen fleeing southbound on Oxford Street about 3:20 a.m. The victims were not physically injured during the incident.
Additionally, an attempted armed robbery occurred Jan. 22 on the 2200 block of Parker Street. Four 19-year-old female victims were approached by two male suspects, with one carrying a handgun, according to the alert. No items were taken during the encounter, and the suspects fled in an unknown direction.
The suspects were described as black males in their mid-20s with medium builds. One was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and the other a grey hooded sweatshirt.
