The 2015 Oregon track and field schedule was released Thursday, with the highlight once again being the Ducks hosting the NCAA Championships.
The Championships will return to Eugene June 10-13 as part of the seven-year deal struck by the University. 2015 will be the third consecutive season and 13th time overall the Ducks have hosted the meet, tying Chicago for the most of any city in the nation.
“We are really excited about our home schedule,” Oregon head coach Robert Johnson said in a statement released by the athletic department. “Hayward Field will once again be the center of track and field in the United States with both the NCAA and U.S. Championships here in June.”
In addition, the Ducks will also host three other collegiate meets during the upcoming season; the Pepsi Team Invitational, the Oregon Relays and the Oregon Twilight.
The Pepsi Team Invitational will feature Kentucky, a powerhouse track program that saw their women’s team finish seventh and their men finish 15th in the Outdoor Championships last year. Washington will also make its 10th appearance at the meet in the past 12 years.
“The Pepsi meet is traditionally one of the best scored meets in the country and this year is no different,” Johnson said. “Facing teams like Kentucky and Washington at home prepares our athletes for the kind of competition they will face at the end of the season.”
The Oregon Relays will follow the Pepsi meet, though a portion of Oregon’s team will be away competing at the Mt. SAC Relays.
The final home meet is the annual Oregon Twilight, which will feature several notable Oregon alums.
Other highlights on the schedule include the USC Trojan Invitational, the Stanford Invitational and the 121st Penn Relays.
This season the Pac-12 Championship will be hosted by UCLA.
