The Oregon men’s golf team concluded its bid to play in the NCAA Championships successfully Saturday. Finishing just one stroke back of winner Stanford, Oregon finished fourteen-over and claimed second in the team category. Oregon freshman Thomas Lim led a final round charge and ended up shooting a 66 (3-under-par) to claim second in the individual category. Oregon sophomore Zach Foushee, who was tied for second after the second round, shot a final round 76 (6-over-par) that brought him down to tie for eight individually. Stanford’s Patrick Rodgers shot a 71 (1-over-par), but still blew out the rest of the competition by six shots.
Oregon is one of five teams from the West Regionals that will be heading to the NCAA Men’s Golf Championships in Hutchinson, Kansas from May 23 to May 28, 2014.
