While the scene was prestine — hockey outdoors the way it was meant to be played — the game itself was anything but pretty Friday night at TCF Bank Stadium.
Nonetheless the No. 1 Gophers eeked out a 1-0 win over Ohio State at the Hockey City Classic in front of an announced crowd of 45,021 fans — the largest crowd ever to watch a hockey game in the state of Minnesota.
This long-awaited oudoor spectacle lived up to the hype and sophomore goaltender Adam Wilcox and the Gophers didn't disappoint the vast home crowd.
