The 2014 Senior Bowl Watch List is filled with Oregon football players.
Released earlier today, five Ducks have been selected by the Senior Bowl Committee as players to “watch for” and have a successful senior year.
Defensive linemen Taylor Hart and Wade Keliikipi, wide receiver Josh Huff, safety Avery Patterson and linebacker Boseko Lokombo have all been nominated to the Watch List.
All five players are returning starters for the Ducks, ranked No. 3 in the AP Poll, and will open their final season in Eugene on August 31 against visiting Nicholls State University.
Huff, coming off a year where he caught 32 passes for 493 yards and seven touchdowns, was also named to Biletnikoff Award watch list for the nation’s top wide receiver.
Lokombo accounted for 39 tackles, 4.5 going for a loss, and six passes defended last year from his outside linebacker position. He was also named to the Butkus Award watch list earlier this year given to the nation’s top linebacker.
Hart accounted for 36 tackles and eight sacks last year from his defensive tackle spot while playing mate Keliikipi had 20 tackles and two sacks last year.
Patterson is returning from a torn ACL he suffered in a 59-17 victory over Cal last year. Now healthy, Patterson is looking to pick up where he left off last year, getting an interception in three straight games while returning two of them for touchdowns.
Players can be added to the watch list at the end of the year based on their overall performance their senior season.
The Senior Bowl takes 110 of the best seniors in the country to play in a game January, 24 2014 in Mobile, Ala.
