Roesler was in third place after the first lap and held steady there until the final turn on the Bowerman corner of Hayward field, where she passed Stanford’s Justine Fedronic. Roesler then put some distance between herself and Fedronic to finish just behind Natoya Goule of LSU.

“I did everything I could,” Roesler said. “It just didn’t happen in that final 100. It was big for team points, we are staying in the game.”
