NBC reporter and University of Oregon alumnus Ann Curry will return to Oregon to speak at the School of Journalism and Communications. As part of the school’s Ruhl Lecture series, which brings accomplished journalists to lecture on a significant current issue, Curry will be speaking about ethics in journalism on Thursday, Feb. 28.
Only 250 seats are available and senior SOJC student Taimarie Locke has already reserved her tickets. Locke says listening to Curry speak is an opportunity for journalism students, and it is encouraging to others to see an alumus like Curry.
“It’s really exciting,” Locke said. “She obviously has a very distinguished career and having her come back to talk about ethics in the school of journalism is a treat for everyone.”
Tickets are free, but must be pre-registered for at http://journalism.uoregon.edu/ruhl-lecture. Doors will open at 6 p.m. The event will also be streamed live at the Jaqua Center Auditorium or room 141 in Allen Hall and on the SOJC website.
