Photo Essay: Thanksgiving 2020

On the fourth Thursday of November every year, families in the United States gather to commemorate their blessings with a Thanksgiving feast. Everyone shares the idea of gratitude, but unique recipes, celebrations and traditions are the sprinkles of variety on this national holiday. With the added aspect of the pandemic, Thanksgiving 2020 looked a bit different: virtual celebrations were commonplace to encourage holiday cheer while still ensuring the safety of friends and family.
This year, several photographers of The Daily Californian documented their perspectives of Thanksgiving amid the pandemic. From the delightful food spreads indoors to the familiar changing fall colors of Sproul Plaza, Thanksgiving 2020 still proved to be memorable in a time when gratitude is perhaps the most needed.
