2nd stabbing on Shattuck Avenue in 2 days, Berkeley police arrest suspect

Following the stabbing of a man Wednesday evening, Berkeley Police Department responded to a second stabbing on Shattuck Avenue Thursday, according to BPD spokesperson Officer Byron White.

At approximately 5:50 p.m. Thursday, officers arrived at the scene near the intersection of Shattuck Avenue and Berkeley Way to find a 26-year-old man with a stab wound in his torso. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive his injury, White said in an email.

Based on the victim’s description of the suspect, UCPD officers located 39-year-oldĀ Daniel Lee Raidy in People’s Park later that day. Raidy was arrestedĀ on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
