The University of Oregon Kultura Pilipinas presents Pilipino Culture Night: ‘The Debut” in the EMU Ballroom in Eugene, Oregon on November 15th, 2014. Pilipino Culture Night is KP’s biggest event of the year with skits, dances, and dinner from Everyday Kine Grindz from Hawaii, a local Hawaiian restaurant. Pilipino Culture Night opened with Jeremy Passion. It was followed by KP members that reenacting a Filipino debutant ball, a coming-of-age traditional Filipino celebration for girls turning 18. KP members also showcased Hip-hop dancing and “Tinikling”, a traditional filipino dance during the event. The food, dance, and the reenactment gave the audience a taste of traditional as well as modern Filipino culture.
